The windows and doors were replaced during one summer recess period. The caulking and glazing contained asbestos so the windows were removed by a separate abatement subcontractor under controlled abatement procedures. The single-paned, non-thermal metal windows were replaced with thermal aluminum windows. Glazing studies were performed and the new glazing included various Low E glazing types as well as increased quantities of translucent insulated panels to enhance the thermal performance of the window walls.
