NORTH READING MIDDLE SCHOOL
North Reading, MA

This 800 student middle school requires complete renovation and significant additions to meet the demands placed on the original 1960 structure.

Highlights of this dynamic project include the addition of eight new science labs, a new library and media center, administrative wing and entrance canopy. Another outstanding feature is the creation of a stage platform between the gymnasium and cafeteria, with a large retractable wall opening up the space to allow all students to participate in events in a “theater in the round” setting.

The new, two-story glass library and media center and new science wing create modern “bookends” which focus the eye on the school’s new central entrance canopy and atrium.

Technology plays a key role as this 40 year old building is “reinvented” and brought into the 21st century. All classrooms will be fully wired, with a local hub allowing for viewing of programs, reports and school information.
