Work on 2075 student Methuen High School is scheduled to commence in the Fall 2011. A very intricate phasing and safety plan will be implemented to allow for the construction to proceed while the building is occupied using the CM at Risk delivery method. The construction period will span 30 months. The OPM Services of KBA includes the management and oversight of the high school project along with the planning and management of swing space needs during construction, including relocation of district central administration offices and the three year relocation of 9th grade population to an off-site city facility.
The project includes construction of a new building entrance with adjoining administration space, new media center with TV studio, new auditorium and fine arts education spaces, a new kitchen and cafeteria, complete reconfiguration and renovation of existing academic building, exterior window and roof replacement as well as limited renovations to the existing ice rink and field house. The project will include MSBA’s “Green School” incentives, MA-CHPS program and sustainable design/construction initiatives.
