In accordance with MSBA guidelines, KBA is providing OPM services for study, design and construction of a new Model Middle School. The grade 6-8 building will be constructed within twenty feet of the Town’s existing middle school. Project scope includes full site development, utility service extensions, building construction, furniture and equipment procurement, owner relocation, development of new playing fields, and abatement and demolition of the existing middle school.

The new school is designed to be LEED certified Silver and achieves MSBA “Energy Efficiency - Green Schools” maximum reimbursement incentive rate. The building will also incorporate sustainable design elements including gray water system, photovoltaic infrastructure, rain gardens, reflective roofing, and 75% recycling of all waste resulting from development. The building program includes 54 classrooms provided with building wide wireless computer network, interactive whiteboards, voice amplification, and IPTV system, a series of lab spaces for computer, language, wood applications, and family and consumer science, 680 seat auditorium, gymnasium with separate fitness center, media center, and distant learning center.
