DENNETT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Plympton, MA

This 30-year old school required extensive renovation and addition to meet the requirements of the modern learning environment. KBA formed a team with the town, teachers and students to identify their requirements and provide a means to satisfy them for the present and the future.

The scope of the addition included ten new classrooms with integrated computer learning stations, and an abundance of storage space and natural lighting. A new gymnasium with a dedicated entry, along with new athletic fields were incorporated to meet the town’s need for a place to host community events.

Once the new construction was completed, the school population shifted into the new space while renovation work proceeded on the existing building. This included a new media center and computer lab, dedicated classrooms for art and music, two new general classrooms, a kindergarten and expanded administrative offices.

All building systems were upgraded, including new boilers, fire protection system, air chiller and emergency electrical system. We also designed in a technology infrastructure to allow for the latest and upgraded voice, data and video systems.
